Herring Shoes is a British family business founded in 1966 by Richard Herring. Our aim is to provide quality footwear from UK private label shoe manufacturer such as Barker, Church's, Chaney and Loake through our website and retail stores.

We retail shoes under the Herring brand, crafting beautifully styled, high-quality footwear tailored to today's needs, based on years of in-depth knowledge of the British handcrafted footwear industry.

Over the years, Herring Shoes have developed close relationships with a number of Northampton manufacturers who work directly with Mr Andrew Loake, William Barker and Jonathan and William Church.

Adrian Herring, the son of the founder of Herring Shoes, worked for some time at the Barker factory, learning in detail the construction and craftsmanship of British handmade shoes.

Through these connections, we have launched our own range of footwear, including Barker, Chaney, Loake, Trickers and Alfred Sargent, made for us in our Northamptonshire factory. Together with other specialist factories around the world, we use the best manufacturers for every shoe we create and pass on the benefits of our knowledge and experience to our customers.

The Herring collection is manufactured to the exact needs of our customers and by working directly with the factory we have the opportunity to create our own individual designs and styles that differentiate us and our customers. Our main drive is to provide excellent quality and service through direct contact with the factory.
