ASICS is a company that originated in Japan and was founded in 1949 by its founder Kihachiro Onizuka. It is a multi-billion-dollar multinational company related to sports equipment and footwear.

ASICS began to produce basketball shoes, but over time, its products have also expanded to other sports shoes. Its private label shoes and running shoes are rated as one of the highest performing footwear in the consumer market.

ASICS sponsored many international players from different sports, such as Tyrone Smith in track and field, Novak Djokovic in lawn tennis and Shane Watson in cricket.
